Answer any two of the following questions in about 40 words:
(i) Why does the poet believe that God made the country?
(ii) Why does the poet call the Koel ‘a rain of sparks’?

Ans.
(i) The poet believes that God made the country because the country side is full of natural beauty, trees and birds. Life in the countryside is simple and peaceful.
(ii) The poet calls the Koel’s a rain of sparks’ because her high-pitched notes kindle fire.
(iii) A happy man according to the poet is the who lives a solitary life. To be in society is to be in sorrow. So, he wants to live a simple life of contentment in a solitary place. Thus he will be able to enjoy sound sleep at night. He will get enough time for study and meditation. It is only possible in living a quiet life or a life of solitude away from the din and bustle of life. Even if he dies none should shed tears over his death and place a stone on his grave. So, he wants to die in peace unnoticed by the people, stealthily.
(iv) The man was not contented with his wealth. Though he was a rich man having much wealth, he was desirous of adding more gold to his assets. To achieve this objective he laboured hard, day and night. He had no time for his family’s welfare. He did not care for his health and lost his vigour and strength and was restlessly thinking for adding more wealth. But he could not be able to satisfy his desire. He became so much weak that one day he died.
