(i) The writer brought the tiny aby squirrel to her room. She wiped the blood from his wound with cotton wool, applied Pencillin ointment. Thus first of all she nursed him and then she tried to feed him. Only after several hours of tending she could manage to pour one drop of water.
(ii) In the piece ‘Acceptance Speech’, Alexander Aris says that the people of Burma are struggling for peace, freedom and democracy. He is right in suggesting that peace, freedom and democracy are essential for human beings. The citizens of a country cannot live properly unless there is internal and external peace. They cannot make progress if they do not enjoy freedom. They require freedom for the proper development of their personality. They need a democratic way of life for the pursuit of their aims and dreams.
(iii) The old woman was the daughter of slaves, black American. She was old blind, but wise. She lived alone in a small house outside of town. She was known for her wisdom.She was honoured among the people where she lived. She was a clairvoyant. She had abnormal power of seeing in her mind what is happening and what exists at a distance.
